Is our life too plastic? Can we do more to reduce the scourge of plastic bags flying through the air, littering our roadways, and clogging our waterways? On February 25 at 7:00 p.m. at the Victor Farmington Library, Sustainable Finger Lakes, the Victor Farmington Library, and Bring Your Own Bag NY present the first event in its DiscusSFLX™ discussion series with a screening of the Bag It movie and discussion led by Kathy Keller of Bring Your Own Bag NY, based in Canandaigua.
The producers of the film have this to say:
Try going a day without plastic. In this touching and often flat-out-funny film, we follow "everyman" Jeb Berier as he embarks on a global tour to unravel the complexities of our plastic world. What starts as a film about plastic bags evolves into a wholesale investigation into plastic and its effect on our waterways, oceans and even our bodies. We see how our crazy-for-plastic world has finally caught up to us and what we can do about it. Today. Right now.
Join us on Thursday, February 25, 2016, 7:00 p.m., at the Victor Farmington Library's Malone Room, for the DiscusSFLX™ presentation and discussion of Bag It.
DiscusSFLX™ is a new discussion series sponsored by Sustainable Finger Lakes, each event highlighted by a film, performance and/or guest speaker.
